GMC – Physiotherapy Program Recognised as Official Provider for McKenzieTraining Program in U.A.E

GMC Physiotherapy College is privileged to announce that the McKenzie Institute International, New Zealand has approved GMC as the official provider of the MDT Training Program in the U.A.E. The course will be offered in GMC Ajman conducted by the International Panel of faculty from McKenzie Institute, New Zealand.

The Program is specially designed for Physiotherapists and Medical Practitioners and the training program will begin in phases from 22nd March 2008 ending with the credentialing exam. Participants of the program will have the privilege of becoming trained and certified McKenzie Practitioners here in the U.A.E without having to travel abroad. The training program is being offered for an intake of 25 participants at a cost of AED 5000 per course.

The McKenzie Institute International is a Charitable Trust registered in New Zealand. Mission: The mission of the Institute is to further the philosophies and treatments for spinal disorders, as developed by Robin McKenzie. The philosophies and treatments are known throughout the world as “The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy”. The mission will be achieved through: Education of healthcare providers, Research into spinal disorders & Promotion of “The McKenzie Method” Research into the concepts of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy as developed by Robin McKenzie is now extensive with over ninety studies being completed to date. The importance of the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the system has recently been recognised by its inclusion in the Danish Government Health Guidelines for the Management of Back Pain. The French Guidelines also recommend the McKenzie treatment for acute back pain.

Gulf Medical College, Ajman (GMCA) is recognized as an institution of higher education by Ministry of Higher Education, UAE. The M.B.B.S program conducted by the college has received APPROVAL from the Ministry and it is also listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools by WHO and IMED under the Auspices of FAIMER.

Gulf Medical College is glad to announce the new courses planned to start in September 2008 subject to approval from Ministry of Higher education and scientific Research, The enquiry for the following programs Doctor of Dental Medicine-DMD* Doctor of Pharmacy* – Pharm.D , Master Program in Clinical Pathology (2 yrs), Master Program in Public Health and Primary Care (2 yrs), Master Program in Toxicology (2 yrs), Diploma in Public Health and Primary Care (1 yr) & Diploma in Toxicology (1 yr) are being accepted at GMC, Ajman.
