The Gulf Medical University and G.M.C Hospital & Research Center Ajman, have been involved in imparting professional education to students in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Masters in Clinical pathology and Premium Healthcare delivery system since a decade.

The Gulf Medical University which is in its 12th year of providing quality Medical Education has been recognized as an institution of higher education by The Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, U.A.E and is deemed as a University following a decree by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The GMU is listed in the directories of WHO, EMRO and IMED under the auspices of FAIMER.

The MBBS curriculum that we follow is organ based or integrated curriculum that is followed only by few universities outside the US & UK.

The Pharm D, DMD programs are also one of its kind program in the Middle East.

The University has been recognized as one of the leading Medical Universities in the region for its highly professional & experienced faculty & quality of teaching, the state of art campus facilities and the support of its own teaching hospitals that provide students requisite practical training in patient care.

The GMC Hospital and Research Centre, Ajman was the first recognized University hospital in the U.A.E. with a capacity of 250 beds housed with ultra modern facilities. By bringing together the very best in professional expertise and Medical infrastructure, giving top priority to research and making quality healthcare accessible to all, GMC Hospital has set a benchmark for health care in the region. The group has been able to successfully establish and operate a modern satellite clinic in Dubai and a multi-specialty hospital in Fujairah. Recently the University has launched its dedicated Research Division and is expecting to launch its ultra-modern research laboratory by the end of 2010.

Thumbay Moideen is married to Mrs. Zora, an accomplished artist in her own right and has won several awards in UAE. They are blessed with two sons, Akbar and Akram.

FUTURE PLANS

The Group’s future plans includes establishing of 10 other hospitals, expansion of its chain of laboratories, expansion of its chain of Pharmacies and expansion of its university and adding up a Health club, convention center and library expansion in the campus. The campus also will provide accommodation to faculty and students.

The university has planned several new bachelors, Masters and e-learning programs to be introduced in the coming 2 years.

The campus will also have the biggest private teaching hospital in the region with capacity of 250 beds and specialist from all over the globe.
