More than 35 Trophies given away during the Prize distribution ceremony for the 4th GMCA SPORTS FESITVAL held on 9th of March 2005, at Gulf Medical College.

A weeklong Sports festival was held at the Gulf Medical College Ajman from the 5th to 9th of March 2005. The festival had participation of more than sixteen colleges and universities from the UAE vying for the Trophy, The concluding day results of the various sports festival were announced during the prize distribution ceremony held at GMC Sports Complex on 9th March 7:00 P.M. “We want to instill the spirit of sportsmanship and in turn develop a healthy competitive attitude amongst the students, We also wish make it much bigger and better next time” said Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President GMCA the chief guest of the function who gave away the prizes to various winners.

The results of the sports festival were as follows ‘Thumbay Trophy’ in Cricket won by Preston University & Runner-up Sky line college, “Saudi Airlines Trophy” in Football Winner University of Sharjah & Runner-up Preston University, “ETC Trophy” in Basket Ball for girls Winner Gulf Medical College & Runner-up IITM Dubai, “AL Salam Press Trophy” in Volley ball girls Winner Gulf Medical College & Runner-up MAHE-Dubai “Sun & Sand Trophy” in Table Tennis boys Winner BITS PILANI & Runner-up Skyline, “Ajman Beach Hotel Trophy” in Table Tennis Winners Gulf Medical College & Runner-UP Bits Pilani.

 
The sports festival is very popular among the students of various colleges & Universities and received a very good response. We appreciate the support received from various sponsors like. Thumbay Group, Saudi Air Line, Laguna Beach Club, Food Land, Emirates Techno casting, Sun & Sands, Ajman Beach hotel, Al Salam Press, etc. Keeping in view the enthusiasm generated among the students during the sports festival Gulf Medical College Plans to extend the duration of the festival to two weeks and include more colleges and Universities for participation.
