Mayo Clinic USA Visits Gulf Medical College, Ajman
Gulf Medical College, Ajman which is privileged to receive a lot of important dignitaries from various parts of the world was recently honoured by the visit of a team of experts from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA. The team included Dr. James A. Garrity, Professor of Ophthalmology, Mayo Medical School and Mr. Stephen F. Gudgell, International Administration of the Mayo Medical Centre at Rochester. The team had discussed with the college authorities several possible areas of academic participation and co-operation with GMCA.
Some of the areas of participation like extending Video Conferencing facilities and conducting CME programs in joint collaboration were agreed upon. Dr. Garrity presented his experience on Tumors of the Eye in Children in a guest lecture. The talk highlighted the unique experience at the Mayo Clinic on a large number of cases of tumors of the eye in children and was greatly appreciated by the faculty and the students.
Gulf Medical College, Ajman which offers the M.B.B.S and Physiotherapy degree programs to students of all nationalities and for both boys and girls provides facilities which is on par with other universities of international repute. Admissions for the academic year 2002-2003 is in progress and the new academic session will commence on September 01, 2002.
