Leading Gynecologists of U.A.E honored at National Conference on Women’ s Health at GMU”

Chief Guest His Excellency  Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chaiman of the Ruler’s Court, Ajman bestowed special awards and honor to leading gynecologists from all over UAE during a special function held as part of the National Conference on Women’s Health at Gulf Medical University (GMU) Campus in Ajman yesterday.

These leading gynecologists were honored for the recognition of their exemplary achievements in the field of Gynecology and for their outstanding service to the community.  Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of GMU presided over the special event.  “Our endeavor is to recognize the contributions made by doctors in their specialty and highlight their achievements.  This is a token of our appreciation and we wish to make this into an annual event”,  said Mr. Moideen.

The following were the recipients of the special award from H.E Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi.

2)      DR. SHAMSA AL AWAR, HOD, Women’s Health Institute, Al Ain Hospital, Al Ain.

3)      DR. MUNA ABDUL RAZZAK TAHLAK, Chairman, Department of O & G, Lathifa Hospital, Dubai.

4)      DR. KAUSER MANSOOR, Senior Consultant & HOD, Department of OB/GYN, Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah

5)      DR. SANA AL ABBASSI, Chief of Department of Gynecology, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, Ajman

6)      DR. SHAHNAZ SHAH, Chief of Services, Department of OB GYN, Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi

7)      DR. ZULEKHA DAUD, Founder – Zulekha Hospitals

8)      DR. MRS. KRISHNA GILL, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Sharjah

9)      DR. KASTURI MUMMIGATTI , Department of Gynecology, GMC Hospital, Ajman

Other leading experts in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics  like Prof. Mawahib Abd Salman, from GMC Hospital, Ajman,   Dr. Mohamed Elkalyoubi from DGFC, Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Husnia Gargash, Director, Gargash IVF Centre, and Dr. Prashant -Hegde, Department of Gynecology, GMC Hospital,  Ajman delivered special  talks on Polycystic Ovarian Disease, Evaluation of Couples for Infertility, Menopausal Therapy, Recurrent Miscarriage and Laparoscopy for Acute Abdomen in Pregnancy – Current Trends and Practices.  They were honored with special mementos by Mr. Thumbay Moideen.

More than  150 doctors, medics and nurses specialized in the gynecology and obstetrics participated in the event which was accredited by the Ministry of Health for 6 CME hours.
