H.E. Oumer Hussien OBA, Ambassador of Ethiopia to the UAE, Visits Thumbay Medicity Ajman

Ajman, UAE: Thumbay Group and Gulf Medical University (GMU), a leading hub for healthcare, education, and research in the region, welcomed H.E. Oumer Hussien OBA, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the UAE, on his official visit to Thumbay Medicity in Ajman.

H.E. was received by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, along with senior officials and academic leaders of Gulf Medical University. The discussions centered on opportunities for collaboration in medical education, training, research, and healthcare services between the UAE and Ethiopia.

During the visit, the Ambassador was given a detailed tour of Thumbay Medicity, home to Gulf Medical University, Thumbay University Hospital, Thumbay Dental Hospital, and Thumbay Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Hospital. He was briefed on GMU’s academic programs, advanced research centers, and the university’s diverse student community representing over 100 nationalities.

H.E. Oumer Hussien expressed appreciation for GMU’s contributions to medical education and healthcare innovation in the region. He also explored potential avenues for Ethiopian students to pursue higher education at GMU, and for future collaborations in capacity building and healthcare delivery.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen welcomed the Ambassador’s keen interest and emphasized Thumbay Group’s commitment to fostering international partnerships. He highlighted GMU’s expanding global footprint, including collaborations with leading universities and institutions worldwide, and reiterated the Group’s mission to contribute to advancing healthcare and education in emerging markets.
