Gulf Medical University to established close ties with South Africa Ministry of Health and universities following the visit of H. E. Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health, South Africa.
Gulf Medical University was honored by the visit of H. E. Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health & H.E. Yacoob Abba Omar, Ambassador of South Africa on Monday 19th April 2010. President & Founder Thumbay Moideen and Director Mr. Akbar received the delegation in his office. This visit has opened several doors to GMU to strengthen the relationship ties with South Africa in areas of Education, Healthcare & Research. Following are the points discussed and to be implemented on a long term basis.

- Research Activities jointly
- Also, Gulf Medical University will be willing to sponsor poor South African students to study at GMU.
Also present, were the Provost, Prof Gita Ashok and other top officials of the university & Hospital They later proceeded to visit GMC Hospital & Research Center Ajman.
The Minster was given a guided tour of the entire University and Hospital and was introduced to the activities of Gulf Medical University and GMC Hospital, particularly in the field of Medicine. The Minister was highly impressed by the infrastructure and facilities provided by the management and congratulated the President Mr. Thumbay Moideen for having made such a remarkable progress in such a short span of time.
Later on, the Minister had an audience with His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Member of the Supreme Council UAE and Ruler of Ajman and also met some of the top officials of the Ajman Ministry of Health.
