GMU Conducts 7th Batch of ‘Introduction to Hospital Careers’ Course

Gulf Medical University (GMU), the leading private medical university in the region owned and operated by Thumbay Group – UAE, conducted the 7^th batch of ‘Introduction to Hospital Careers’ course at the university campus from 27^th to 31^st December 2015.

The 5-day course provided an opportunity to senior secondary school students from various schools in the UAE to observe selected facilities at GMU and GMC Hospital – Ajman. Students toured the various departments of GMU such as the Biomedical, Dental, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy departments, as well as its world-class facilities like the Centre for Advanced Biomedical Research and Innovation (CABRI) and the Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH).

Participants also gained insights into the units involved in hospital care function and acquired knowledge of learning and career opportunities. They toured the specialty departments of GMC Hospital, Ajman and were also posted in the departments of their choice as observers, to gain firsthand information.

Certificates of participation were awarded to the students, at the end of the course.
