GMC Hospital, Fujairah receives accreditation from U.K. based QHA TRENT.

GMC Hospital, Fujairah, U.A.E. owned and run by the THUMBAY Group, Middle East received two years full accreditation effective 01^st December, 2010 from U.K. based QHA-TRENT.  The QHA-Trent Accreditation is the only whole hospital accreditation based with the UK National Health Services (NHS).  GMC Hospital, Fujairah has brought about a lot of changes since the beginning of the accreditation process and has excelled in hospital management, delivery of quality healthcare to patients. The standards adopted by the hospital are in par with world standards and spares no effort in maintaining the quality of patient care.

The Certificate of Accreditation was handed over to Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President, of Thumbay Group in the presence of Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Director of GMC Hospitals by an accreditation panel from QHA-Trent., U.K. comprising of Dr. Tim O’Carrol, Chairman-Award Panel, Ms. Elizabeth Brownhill, Chief Operating Officer.  The Certificate of Accreditation was awarded at the Browns Hotel in the Graham Bell Hall, the hall in which the first ever historic telephone call was made.

QHA-Trent Accreditation aims to offer those who commission health services as well as the public, an objective means of being assured of the general quality of certain services. They evaluate a vast range of modalities of hospital’s activities and governance, including management, equipment, clinical audit, research, training and education, as well as clinical/medical activities. Two years full accreditation is awarded when the hospital or the service meets or exceeds the requisite criteria.

In its overseas work the QHA-Trent Accreditation involves local people in setting the local standards so that the standards reflect local practice and culture. The panel was pleased to see the number of commendations of excellent practice within the hospital.

The Directors of QHA Trent, U.K. Dr. Tim O’Carroll and Ms. Elizabeth Brownhill congratulated Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Mr. Akbar Moideen and all the staff of the GMC Hospital, Fujairah on their hard work and success in achieving the prestigious accreditation.
