GMC Hospital Ajman hosts Continuing Nursing Education Seminar on Management of Hypertension.

The Nursing Department of GMC Hospital, Ajman in association with Health Communication Division of Gulf Medical University organized a Continuing Nursing Education Seminar on ‘Management of Hypertension’  recently.  The event was conducted by the Cardiology Department, GMC Hospital, Ajman.

The program began with the recital from the Holy Quran after which the Moderator welcomed the distinguished Speakers with floral bouquets.


Dr. Ani Purushotham, Caridiology Resident started the scientific session with the initial lecture on the definition, types and causes of hypertension.  Later, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Fathi, Cardiology Consultant, GMC Hospital, Ajman presided with an informative talk on ‘Hypertensive urgencies’.

Dr. Ehab Elsheiba, HOD, Cardiology Department, GMC Hospital  lectured on ‘Hypertensive Emergencies”.  He elaborated on the prevalence, morbidity, and steps to diagnose and reduce hypertension.

Ms. Vineetha Pramod reviewed the basic nursing skills on ‘Blood pressure recording and monitoring’. The seminar concluded with the panel discussion and recommendations on tackling hypertension.  Certificates of participation were distributed to all those who attended the all important event.

The seminar was systematically organized as it was evident in the feedback from the delegates that the objectives of the eventful program was successfully met.  The Nursing Department of GMC Hospital, Ajman in association with Health Communication Division of GMU  hold seminars on a regular basis.

All the events conducted by the Nursing Department of  GMC Hospital, Ajman are reviewed and accredited by the Ministry of Health, U.A.E.
