College of Allied Health Sciences – GMU to hold a Conference on Current Concepts in Clinical Motion Analysis

College of Allied Health Sciences (Physical Therapy program), a constituent college of Gulf Medical University will be hosting a conference on Current Concepts in Clinical Motion Analysis on the 13th of February 2010 at GMU Campus in Ajman from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm.

The purpose of the conference is to offer a common platform for professionals and physical therapists to exchange knowledge about Clinical motion Analysis.

Explaining the importance of the theme, Prof. Mohsen El-Sayyad, Dean, College of Allied Health Sciences and Chairman of the conference said “Motion analysis helps a patient’s care team accurately identify problems specific to each patient. It proves greatly useful, as an objective measurement for physical therapy. Wireless communication facilitates free range of motion, permits greater ease of use and enhances patient’s consent for the procedure. It allows the clinician to analyze a patient’s structure and alignment and enables measurements of angle of spinal curvature and potentially evaluate the Rehabilitation Progress. In addition, buffered information provides a valuable Clinical tool to study how Movement or lack of Movement may correlate with low back pain, Cardiac Ailments, Dietary Modifications, Pharmacological Treatments, and Postural Control

Over 150 healthcare and medical professionals from all over the UAE are expected to participate in this prestigious conference. Dr. William Murrell from Dubai Bone & Joint Centre, Dr. Hussein Karimi from Sharjah University, Dr. Ashfaq Konchwala from Medcare Hospital and Prof. Mohsen El Sayyad, Dean of College of Allied Health Sciences-GMU will deliver talks during the conference.

The following topics will be covered during the conference.
