THUMBAY GROUP COMPLETES TEN YEARS IN UAE

Thumbay Group, a leading business conglomerate in the UEA organized its Decennial Celebrations on the 7th of November 2008 at Gulf Medical University campus in Ajman.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman Ruler’s Court Ajman was the Chief Guest. Many dignitaries from UAE and abroad participated in the celebrations, which was attended by over 1100 employees and their families.

Prof. K.R. Shetty from India, Prof. Ali Haeri from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran, Dr. Pervez Iqbal from Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore, Mr. Abdul Salam, Managing Director BA Group India and Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Kassam from Malawi and members of the media were some of the special guests who graced the occasion.

Founder President of the group Mr. Thumbay Moideen, welcoming the guests enumerated the achievements of the group over the last ten years. He thanked the Authorities and members of the Ruling Family for their support and encouragement all through these years. He spelt out the future plans of the group, which include setting up of overseas campus of Gulf Medical University in Cairo, Egypt and Johor Baru in Malaysia. The leading healthcare provider in the UAE and one of the flagship ventures of Thumbay group, GMC Hospital also has extensive plans for expansion and setting up of international centers in Lusaka, Zambia, Blantrye, Malawi and Maputo in Mozambique. Other ventures of the group like Blends & Brews –International Coffee Shoppe chain and Body & Soul Health Clubs and Spa are also planning to enter international markets in the Middle East, Far East and India by the year 2010.

The Chief Guest honored some of the senior staff and faculty members for the exemplary performance and honored them with Special Achievement Awards. The group also has honored media personalities for their continued support to the group initiatives and activities.
