GMU Faculty, Dr. Anil Bankar lectures at International Seminar on Global Health & Medical Tourism, Japan

Dr Anil Bankar, Assistant Professor of Medical Tourism at Gulf Medical University, Ajman was invited as a speaker at the International Seminar on Global Health & Medical Tourism organized by Chiba University, Tokyo, Japan during 27 -28 March, 2018. Chiba University Hospital, Japan welcomed the participants.

Dr. Anil Bankar talked on ‘Emerging Trends in Medical Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities’. He shared his UAE experience with Japanese counterparts, which was well appreciated.   Dr Nobue Nakamura, Dean, Graduate School of Nursing Felicitated Dr Anil Bankar.  The second day of Seminar, 28 March, 2018, was held at Chiba University campus and Dr. Anil Bankar delivered a lecture on ‘Key Learning Outcome of Medical Tourism Education for Nursing Program’. During the visit Dr. Anil explained the concept of medical tourism and the role of nursing professionals in medical tourism.

Speaking on the importance of medical tourism education in the era of globalization,  Dr Anil Bankar acknowledged the vision of the visionary Founder President Hon. Dr. Thumbay Moideen for encouraging us to initiate education in the medical tourism sector, considering the lacunae in medical tourism education in this part of the globe.

The seminar also concluded that way forward Medical Tourism in future is Medical Tourism Education. During the roundtable meeting, dignitaries Prof. Megumi Teshima, Dr. Nobue Nakamura, Prof. Ariko Noji, Dr.Akiko Nosaki and Dr Anil Bankar discussed the initiatives of  taken by the Japanese government to promote medical tourism in a sustainable way.
