The University’s intentions over the next ten years are ambitious; we are striving to establish a place amongst the best medical varsities in the Middle East Region and in turn achieve a place among the high ranking institutions in the world. Our optimism is justified and fuelled by our growth in the past decade from a college to a university. Any plan must be considered in the context in which the plan occurs. The elements, which set the context of this plan, include the purpose of the institution, the institutional vision, the organizational values, external environmental factors and internal environmental factors. These factors further describe the environment in which the university operates; the current strategic plan 2010 -2020 was constructed and will next be implemented. The University’s strategic planning context involves both internal and external environments.

Provost Prof. Gita Ashok Raj during the release of the document mentioned “It gives me great pleasure to be a part of the Gulf Medical University Vision 2020. It is my responsibility to ensure that the Strategic plan will serve as a road map to guide policies and plans towards accomplishing the goals of Vision 2020. It highlights the strategies to be adopted to fulfill the mission of GMU. Education is not only a basic human right but also a pre-requisite for achieving the wider social, cultural and economic goals set of the nation. Vision 2020 aims to continuously improve the quality and relevance of education to ensure development of a cadre of highly motivated and competent health professionals who support a holistic approach to education, research & learning taking advantage of new educational innovations and technologies to increase access to and improve the quality of healthcare that meets wider national and international needs.”

Gulf Medical University is also glad to announce the establishment of center for continuing education and community outreach under which 70 non degree programs having part-time, full-time and some being online all having a duration of less than one year course duration will be started,

The University attracts more than 51 nationalities from various countries and Majority of them is locals and Arabs from the GCC. The Campus is well planned with various buildings spread over an area of 1 Million Sq. Feet. Which holds 300 Bed Super specialty Hospital, Villas, Housing complex, boys and Girls hostels, Body and Soul Health club, coffee Shoppe, Play areas, Convention Centre and various other facilities for students and faculty it’s like a city within which will House more than 2000 people which includes Staff, Students and Families located at the campus.
