Our Standards
We are recognised by ISQua (The International Society for Quality in Health Care), the body that oversees and regulates international accreditation systems, and we are a member.

The standards we use are regularly reviewed and updated and are a tried and tested format. The standards are divided into management, clinical, or support services and form a checklist against which service leads can measure themselves as well as against which surveyors verify statements are correct. We review all of your service because we believe that clinical services cannot operate properly unless there is, for example, appropriate maintenance, laundry, or catering services.

We encourage hospitals and clinics to accredit all of the services they offer, but it may be that some of the sections are not relevant to your service, or you would prefer them not to be surveyed.

The standards are a list of sentence statements which are deliberately kept free from fine detail. This is as much to keep the burden of paperwork and bureaucracy to a minimum as to allow flexibility of interpretation according to local circumstances.

If you wish to pursue accreditation, we will gladly provide you with copies of the standards very early in the process so we may work with you to see what needs to be done in preparation, if required.
