Thumbay Hospital Fujairah Launches ‘Go Green’ Initiative

Thumbay Hospital – Fujairah, the leading academic hospital operated by Thumbay Group’s healthcare division, launched a ‘Go Green’ initiative at the hospital premises on 7^th November 2017. Launched as part of Thumbay Group’s CSR drive, the initiative was inaugurated by Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, in the presence of Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay – Vice President of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group, members of Thumbay Group Board, the hospital management and staff from various departments.

The tagline of the ‘Go Green’ initiative is, “There is no planet B”, emphasizing the need to protect the earth by planting more trees and spreading greenery, through the slogan: Save the Planet, Plant a Tree. Planting a sapling at the hospital premises to kick-off the initiative, Mr. Thumbay Moideen said that he hoped the campaign would inspire people to learn to respect and care for their environment through hands-on efforts. He added that Thumbay Group would include more environment-focused activities in its CSR plan.

According to Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, the initiative has been launched to raise employee and community awareness of environmental stewardship, and to encourage the community to work to protect the environment. He added that Thumbay Group’s hospitals, multispecialty day-care centers and clinics were actively involved in spreading the message of protecting the environment.
