GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Centre, Sharjah celebrates 2nd anniversary.

On the 17^th of September, 2013, GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Center, Sharjah successfully completed two years of its dedicated healthcare services to the people of emirates.

To mark the occasion, the Founder President of Thumbay Group Mr. Thumbay Moideen alongwith Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, Provost of Gulf Medical University, Mr. Akbar Moideen, Director – Operations Healthcare & Retail Division, Thumbay Group, Dr. Manvir Singh Walia – Medical Director of GMC Hospitals and other important officials of Thumbay Group attended the special function organized by GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Center, Sharjah.

Dr. Samir Kumar, Manager-Operations, GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Center, Sharjah highlighted the achievements made by the center over the last two years.  “The Center has treated patients from 100 nationalities and performed over 25000 dental cases.  As part of its services to the community the center has conducted many free health camps for the benefit of school children, industrial workers, the social and cultural associations”, commented Dr. Samir Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Thumbay Moideen expressed his pleasure at the activities of the center and emphasized the role of education and affordable healthcare services to all sections of the society. He commended on the excellent infrastructure and facilities to train Gulf Medical University students which includes 14 dental chairs.

One of the senior doctors from the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Banikanta Das Sarkar was honored for his dedicated services and valuable contribution to the center.

GMC Medical & Dental Specialty Center, Sharjah is the first Dental Teaching Hospital of Thumbay Group to initiate electronic filing systems.  The Center supports the clinical teaching activities of the Dental College of Gulf Medical University, U.A.E.  The dental section currently offers services in general dentistry which includes Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Endodontic and Oral Surgery.  In the medical section, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic, Radiology, Pediatric, Obstetrics & Gynecology services to name a few are being offered.  And for the convenience of the public the center has an in-house pharmacy with a wide range of medicines from reputed pharmaceutical manufacturers.
